Albert Einstein the Plumber
Einstein strongly disliked the mixing of science with politics. In 1954, due to this very issue, he was quoted as saying
“If I would be a young man again and had to decide how to make my living, I would not try to become a scientist or scholar or teacher. I would rather choose to be a plumber in the hope to find that modest degree of independence still available under present circumstances”
As a result of this comment, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Washington, D.C. made him an honorary plumber.

PLUMBUM
The word “plumbing” comes from the word “plumbum” which is Latin for Lead, this is why Lead is abbreviated as PB on the periodic table. Used in water supply pipes for hundreds of years, Lead was used to make everything from paint to gasoline. Today over half of the Lead produced is used in Lead-acid car batteries. It is also used in pigments, ammunition, cable sheathing, weights for lifting, Lead crystal glass, and radiation protection. Lead exposure can seriously harm a child’s health. Lead poisoning, also called plumbism, is a buildup of lead in the body, usually over months or years. Despite health concerns, Lead pipes still connect millions of homes to water supplies.

Super Mario the Plumber
Super Mario debuted in 1981 as a carpenter going by the name of jumpan in Donkey Kong, then in 1983 Luigi was introduced and their creator Shigeru Miyamoto depicted them as plumbers.
Mario has never actually been seen doing any plumbing, but apparently was given the job because he spent a lot of time underground. His creators have said that once it was decided he worked as a plumber, many of the other parts of his character – including the fact that he is Italian, and lives in something like New York – followed.
Then in 2017 according to Nintendo’s Japanese website, Mario was stripped of his occupational title of a plumber and was dubbed a “gig” worker due to the fact that he was many things throughout the years, a doctor, a painter, tennis player, etc..
However, in 2018, Nintendo confirmed our beloved video game character is once again a plumber. So is Luigi, Wa Luigi, and Wario.
“We wanted him to be someone who might live near you, and not a superhero.” Miyamoto said. So there you have it folks. Mario and Luigi are plumbers by profession !!
